Commissioners Travel to Raleigh

Hold on to your pocketbooks folks. Commissioners Warren Judge, Mike Johnson and Virginia Tillett were in Raleigh last week attending the opening of the state legislature and the swearing in of Senator Stan White.
It will be interesting, in the days ahead, to see if the Judge/White rift that was severed when White left the county board of commissioners will come into play in the months ahead. Meanwhile, mark your calendars and remind EOD to check next month's credit card bill to see how much it cost you to feed the entourage that day.

They spent time talking with Senator Stan White, former Chairman of the Dare County Board of
Commissioners and North Carolina Department of Transportation Board Member.  White was appointed to fill the First Senatorial District seat formerly held by Marc Basnight.  (source: Dare County website)

Are there any $600.00 a night hotel rooms in Raleigh? Hmm, they must have come back the same night EOD, no need to check.

I don't know about any $600 a night hotel rooms in Raleigh, but there are plenty in the $100 a night range that are close to downtown Raleigh where the legislature meets.

I hope the get smarter now that they know they will have to account for what they spend.

If there were not an overnight stay, check for spa/massage expenses----surely, our "royalty" wouldn't travel all the way to Raleigh and back in one day without some pampering----at our expense.

Well, EOD notices that the 42nd Street Oyster Bar in Raleigh is a big favorite of the commissioners.
Funny, how our elected officials will go all the way to Raleigh to buy non-Outer Banks Catch and pay for it with our money..

They should pack a brown bag lunch and carpool for all the county money they wasted.
