Judge John Smith (sure, that's his name----if I were being an idiot, that's what I'd call myself, too.), is a fool. Let's see---- you're losing 40 million---a year----how's about you try to get some additional staff hired and/or change some policies/procedures/computer systems or, as a drastic last resort, hire back Ray Midgett to ferret out the money.
I am as offended by this news are you, Johnr. I worked for the revenue department, not the justice department; and that agency has gone to hell in a handbasket too. If people only knew about the tens of millions of dollars that are on the books because the State of North Carolina does not aggressively pursue collection, they would probably rebel.
