How's our little "press association" website doing? Oh, a story about cracked garbage cans! And a press release from Kay Hagan with no follow up or enterprise questions asked!

Now THAT is some compelling journalism, OBV. Why not help with local matters, or turn yourself into

To the 6:56am poster,

In short, he's too busy wearing the other hat.

In response to the money drive and Mr. Johnson, I hope that CTO does NOT go “live in North Carolina.”

Its founder and pastor, Mike Arnold, while on one side training children to shoot through CTO, is at the same time running a project called “CHRISTIAN UPRISING.” As near as I can tell it is a movement against Islam, Liberals, and Atheists (just quoting the site).

Mike Arnold was some kind of Karl Rove and GW Bush insider, according to his biography.

And he says that Christians need to rule the earth, and that the bible backs him up.

I just would hate to see our Parks and Rec department become a vehicle for this kind of message or recruiting, let alone have our county government resources be involved in raising money for them. I would also hate to be at the landfill and get mistaken for a bear or a liberal.

For more info, go to http://christianuprising.com

Maybe being the county attorney and the county manager creates a potential conflict? Maybe an independent attorney might be a better idea or how about the people electing a county manager so he is not answering to a potentially corrupt board of commissioners for his job and he / she can act in the best interest of the people. Then if the people feel they are not doing their job the people can make a change during the next election.

REF. county attorney/county manager--Do other counties have dual office holders? What if the county manager makes a big mistake, does the county hire another attorney to represent him or does he represent himself? When is he going to start woking 80 hours per week to earn his salary ? Is the county manager sworn into office or just appointed, and the county attorney the same? Disgusting

In Dare County, if you're a polititian and you're caught doing something inappropriate, you can say you are christian and that makes it okay.
