Stop the Pouting

Bob Woodard
The Outer Banks Sentinel is reporting this morning that there is tension on the new Kill Devil Hills town board, where, during the November election, voters replaced three of the five members.

EyeonDare sees nothing here but bruised egos and it's time Paul Buske and Bob Woodard stopped pouting and got back to work. EOD also found it interesting that the board nominated Woodard, along with newly elected  members, Brandi Rheubottom and Mike Hogan for a vacant position on the Tourism Board and, guess what...the Dare County Commissioners, led by commissioner Allen Burrus' motion, appointed none other than Woodard to the position.  Hmmm....politics as usual?

To anyone who has not had the opportunity to sit through a KDH Town hall meeting….Do yourself a favor and sit in for one.

It should be called the Bob “listen to me” Woodard council meeting.

The man is as arrogant as they come. He talks just to hear himself speak and just when you think there is nothing else he could possibly say……he repeats himself just to make sure everyone has heard him.

He feels like he needs to comment on EVERYTHING.

You could see the “hurt” in Bob’s eyes when the New Mayor failed to recognize a second to the motion for Woodard as Mayor Pro-Tem. He pouted like a puppy.

look to the mayor and her record in the private and "non-private" sector.......she loves this type of of friction

I don't know the new mayor personally. I look forward to meeting her one day.

However she turns out, it will be a 100% improvement over the last Mayor and to Commissioners

I have attended a number of KDH Board meetings, and I have a different point of view. It seems Commissioner Woodard does his homework. He makes phone calls and researches the issues at hand. Naturally, he then has information to share with the rest of the Board as well as the citizens in attendance. And I believe it's important for all the Commissioners to discuss or comment on "EVERYTHING." Otherwise, how would we, the citizens, know where they stand on the issues?

There are always those who criticize no matter what the Commissioners do. If they talk too much, they're "arrogant." If they don't talk much, they're boring or unresponsive. So...let's see how these new ones do.

What record are you talking about. Your statement sounds like some type of accusation with no specifics to support it.

Woodard only started doing his homework when he was relieved of his job in Virginia and became a full time NC resident.

He has been making decisions affecting year around KDH citizens for years while living in Virginia and returning to Bay Drive on the weekends.

It is time for him to go back to Virginia.

To Bay Drive Neighbor: You have been on Mr. Woodard for what seems like forever. Why is that? Your information is incorrect. Mr. Woodard RETIRED, he was not relieved. Maybe you don't know the difference. For someone who thinks they are so smart and knows everything, why don't you run for office and do the town a huge favor.

EOD you seem to be the only news outlet that truly reports on an entire issue. Word has it that this whole police chief issue in KDH was started with a court official not liking the fact that his son was stopped and questioned by police. Have yet to see anything about that on any news outlets.

Didn't hear the anon. that defended Woodard say anything about him not living here full time and still making decisions for the town. Guess you can't when that is true.

To Anon. @ 12:34---

Commissioner Woodard is more dedicated to KDH than you are. He has the guts to run for office, while you sit on the sidelines and make snide remarks. He does live in KDH.

So...just what have you done for our town??? Why haven't you run for office instead of just sniping?

Don't understand your criticism of the County appointing Bob to the Tourism Board. As a member of the Press I receive an agenda packet and Bob was listed by KDH as the Town Board's first choice. Reporter
