The new Dare County website, launched three days ago, contains much glitz and glamor, and, in the opinion of EyeonDare is a much needed improvement over the old website.
And, the question of how much it cost the taxpayers can be a matter of debate for anyone interested in the question. But, certainly the old site was dated and needed updating.

One aspect that caught EOD's eye rather quickly was the
Commissioners' Profile Page which contains what appears to be professionally shot photos of each commissioner, all worthy, quality wise, to be hanging in the rotunda of any government building in the country. So the question here is, "How much did the taxpayers of Dare County pay for these sittings?" EyeonDare thinks it's a fair bet that each commissioner didn't pay for their own portrait despite the fact that at least two of them, Warren Judge and Allen Burrus, have chosen to use theirs as profile photos on their personal Face Book page.
Perhaps, EOD is wrong, maybe each board member chose to pay for their own portrait. Let's query them and see. Stay tuned.

Come on EOD give these folks a break. They need all the assistance possible. Even a professional photographer cannot help everyone.
Maybe they snuck in line at Manteo Elementary during class photo day and scanned in the free proof sheets they hand out?
Judging by the positioning marks on Mr. Burrus' photo that might have actually been the case.
Naaw...the positioning marks were captured off Burrus' Face Book page...e.g. there were a part of his other photos slideshow.
Gotta admit these are nice quality shots..although some of them need a little lighting adjustment.
Hey, due to the economy, I've been out of FT work since last September. Think the County would pay for my son's Senior portraits for me? Pretty sure they were done by the same people. smh
EOD is advised the Commissioners file photos were taken by Gordon Kreplin of Ascension Photography. $75 each
Thankfully, a local photographer was used!
One has to wonder why the Dare Commissioners chose to spend all that money on fancy individual photos at the same time four of the seven are up for re-election.
Good judgment? Why wasn't the old group photo good enough? More extravagance from our county board?
